Tonka Water has been chosen
for the refurbishment of an existing water treatment system in Rio Hondo,
Texas. The existing concrete system provides flocculation, tube settler sedimentation, and granular
media filtration. As a part of this project, new customized Tonka
Water paddle-wheel flocculators will be supplied, and the sedimentation
basin will be fitted with new, efficient tube settlers, and the innovative MechVac™
mechanical sludge removal system. Also included will be the addition of a
third filter cell, and the two existing filter cells will be refurbished to
match, incorporating Tonka Water’s Simul-Wash™ backwash
process, BLEU™ stainless steel underdrains and engineered media.
